Wait List Instructions

Students who attempt to register in MyLutherNet for a course that is filled to capacity may opt to put themselves on the Wait List.  Students will be prompted through the online registration process of the Wait List option.

The student’s name will be put on a Wait List which will be monitored by the Registrar’s Office.  As space becomes available in the course, students will be registered into the course based on degree program needs and notified by the Registrar’s Office. 

If a student has already registered for the maximum credits allowed for the term, the system will not allow students to be put on a Wait List.

Wait listed students who are not accepted into a particular course will be removed from the Wait List after the last day to add/drop online for that term.

Note:  The Registrar’s Office will not be able to selectively put students on the Wait List per individual requests.

Student Responsibility

Be sure to view your schedule after completing all transactions; it's your responsibility to verify your registration. Also be sure to logout after completing all transactions for security reasons.
 
Please use your LUTHER SEMINARY email account to email registrar@luthersem.edu for any questions pertaining to your student record.  This is the official channel of communication and students are expected to monitor and use it to receive important information regarding registration, bill payments, and all other student services.  If you email us from your private email account, you will be asked to resend and submit your question/concerns.   

The Office of the Registrar reserves the right to drop any class for any student where:

  • Prerequisite has not yet been met
  • Courses are outside the student's division/degree program (i.e., M.Div. students may not register for Ph.D. 8000-level courses) In order to take courses outside their division, M.A., and M.Div. students must obtain written permission from the instructor; all Graduate Theological Education students must obtain written permission of both the instructor and the associate dean.)

Course schedules for 2017-2018 are now available on MLN.

Course offerings are located in Registration / Course Search - and changing the term to see all 2017-2018 terms.  Registration for Fall Semester occurs in July; J-Term registration will begin in October; and Spring Semester registration will begin after Thanksgiving break.  If you have any questions about the schedule, email registrar@luthersem.edu 

FALL 2017-18 REGISTRATION

Fall semester registration begins, by class status, on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.  Remember to log into MyLutherNet at 7:45am CST or later. 2017-18 schedules are available in Course Search.
 
Students wishing to discuss their Fall schedule may do so with the Registrar at registrar@luthersem.edu or with staff of the Student Resource Center (SRC) at src@luthersem.edu

CLASS STATUS (RECLASSIFICATION):

JUNE 2017 - RECLASSIFICATIONS WILL BE DONE FOR PURPOSES OF THE JULY 2017 REGISTRATION SESSION FOR FALL SEMESTER 2017. 
 
Class Status (Reclassification) may be seen by clicking on the Personal Info link in the top-right corner.  
  • MDIV Seniors have completed 20 or more credits. 
  • MDIV Middlers have completed between 10 and 19.5 credits. 
  • MDIV Juniors have completed 9.5 or fewer credits. 
Completed credits include only courses that have been graded (NR, Incompletes, etc. do not count toward earned credits). 
  • MA Seniors have completed 9 or more credits. 
  • MA Juniors have completed 8.5 or fewer credits.  
 
Reclassifications are made in mid-June based on credits that have been completed (after Spring grades due date).   NO re-classifications typically occur before J-Term, Spring Semester, or Summer registration periods. 

FALL SEMESTER 2017-2018 F6/S6 Details

Online registration for Fall Semester will open according to student class on July 11, 2017.
 
All changes to Fall Semester schedules must be made by contacting the Office of the Registrar at registrar@luthersem.edu after September 12, 2017.  Changes for the Second Six (S6) Week Term may still be made by email or by stopping by the office during regular office hours.  Second Six Week courses begin Thursday October 26 and the week following.  So if your S6 course meets on Mondays for example, it will begin on Monday, October 30.  Changes may be made to S6 courses without penalty (academic or financial) and without instructor signature through November 2.  Changes made between November 3-9 to S6 courses must be made with an instructor signed add/drop slip.  Consult the academic catalog for more refund/withdrawal information.
