Introduction

In this unit, we will explore methods and tools for designing assessments that help students demonstrate their knowledge and abilities. We will also look at frameworks for determining satisfactory demonstrations of learning and methods for providing feedback.

  1. On your syllabus describe the assessments students will do to demonstrate that they have achieved the learning goals you have set. Reference which assessments meet which learning goals.
  2. List the criteria you will use for determining quality work in each assessment. Choose one of the rubric formats provided in a handout, the Fink chapter, Huba & Freed chapter, or as a badge. Develop a rubric using your criteria for each assessment.
