  • Click on the "My Account Balances" link found on the Student Finances page under the My Account Info section.
  • Click on the link to the right of "STD RECEIVABLES" (STD is the code for student) with your balance amount, found above the Grand Total line.  For example: "$0.00 Due"
  • Your total history of student receivable transactions will appear on this page.
Use the My Account Info area to submit online payments or view your student account.
Paperwork for employment (W-4, I-9) is located in both the Payroll Office (651-641-3518) and Business Office. Both offices are located in Northwestern Hall. You can also e-mail the Payroll Office at  colson@luthersem.edu.
UNDERSTANDING THE LIFETIME LEARNING TAX CREDIT
 
The Lifetime Learning tax credit is available for all students who do not claim a HOPE tax credit. This credit is equals 20% of the first $5,000 in tuition paid or a maximum credit of $1,000. After the year 2002, this amount increase to 20% of the first $10,000 paid ($2,000 maximum). The tax credit must be claimed in the year or the first three months of the next year. This credit is gradually reduced for students with an adjusted gross income between $40,000 and $50,000 ($80,000 and $100,000 for married taxpayers filing jointly). 
As an eligible education institution that receives qualified tuition and related expenses on your behalf, Luther Seminary furnishes a 1098-T Tuition Payments Statement to applicable students. This statement is sent by January 31st of each year to the student's permanent address.
The payment schedule for tuition is:
  • Fall Semester - payments are due October 15th
  • J-Term - payments are due January 15th
  • Spring Semester - payments are due by March 15th
If you are on a payment plan, payments are due by the 15th of each month. Tuition payments are made in the  Business Office.

FINANCIAL AID

Students can apply for Financial Aid by contacting the Financial Aid Office located in Northwestern Hall 651-641-3527.

LOAN FUNDS

Electronically transferred funds are applied directly to the student's account. Credit balances created by loan funds must be refunded to the student.

Paper student loan checks must be endorsed at the Business Office. Students will be notified by e-mail when the check arrives. The student must endorse the loan check before the funds will be credited to the student's account.

REFUND CHECK

Overpayments or excess financial aid will remain on the student's account unless permission is received from the student. Credit balances are refunded by request.

Refunds for overpayments or excess financial aid are available approximately 10 days after the drop/add date at the start of each semester. Through out the year refund checks will be generated and mailed on Wednesday afternoons.

Refund checks are mailed to the billing address unless a request is made to have the check sent to an alternate address.

HOUSING

We offer housing for students who live alone and family student housing. For more information on housing, please contact the Housing Office located in Sandgren Apartments 651-641-3237.

All full-time Luther Seminary students are required to have medical insurance. If you are not currently on a group plan you can register for student insurance at  www.eiiassip.org .  We DO NOT automatically enroll students in the health insurance.

Vehicles need to be registered in the Business Office. You will obtain a parking tag that needs to be placed in your vehicle.
 
This service is free of charge.
The outlets are turned on November 15 through March 31. One outlet is available per LS housing family for $50.00. Sales are non-refundable and cash or check only.
Complete Form W-4 so that Luther Seminary can withhold the correct federal income tax from your pay.
 
 Student Employees need to complete the W-4 and I-9 to ensure that you will be paid while working on campus.
 
Fill out this form to have your paycheck automatically deposited in you checking or savings account on payday.
