Description
In conjunction with a trip to Istanbul and the Aegean coast of Turkey led by instructors, this course interprets early Christian lives through visitation to sites and the exploration of archeological remains. Study of the art and architecture contemporary with the writings of the New Testament and early Church will give students the opportunity to imagine the social, cultural, and historical settings of early Christians in this important region. Discussion of assigned readings in pre-trip meetings in required.
